codeValet Animated Pitch Video

Project Overview

Client Name

codeValet

Project Type

Animation

Location

Seattle, WA

Project Duration

2 Months

Goal

codeValet requested an animated pitch video for use in a venture fundraising campaign for their startup.

Our Approach

Pre-Production:

codeValet CMO pursued Snohomish Film Co for the creation for a pitch video to use in investor events and pitch meetings. We worked with the CMO to craft the script and then worked to create a storyboard for production. This process look about 6 weeks because the founder team was still workshoping product market fit, USPs, and target audience.

Filming

Once script and storyboard were approved, we turned around a first draft within 72 hours. We used a combination of tools to produce this video, from After Effects for motion graphic design, to Illustrator to rig and prepare graphic elements for motion, to AI tools like ElevenLabs to help transform our original voice over to find a voice that worked well for their target audience. The whole process was accomplished with our in-house team thereby keeping production costs down to a minimum.

Post-Production

There were 6 revisions for this project, mostly due to the fluid nature of startups entering into their first fundraising round. Snohomish Film Co remained diligent throughout the process to provide edit turnarounds quickly.

Challenges & Solutions

Weather or Environmental Conditions

Due to the fluid nature of startups, the primary complications for this project were finding the right language and positioning for the voice over and text callouts. This was the reason for a majority of the change requests, but no notes were given on the style/design of the video.

Time Constraints:

Final Takeaways

This project was a fantastic change for us to showcase our motion graphic and animation skills as well as experiment with emergent AI tools. The ability to quickly and effectively use AI tools without sacrificing human expertise and authenticity is paramount for any business who wants to engage with "AI". We believe our approach to using AI as a tool rather than a replacement for creativity is the key to effective use of AI in the future.
